The Neighborcat Project

The overpopulation of free-roaming domestic stray and feral cats is a huge problem, particularly in cities. In response to this, Neighborcat is a pilot project designed to simultaneously gather information and provide education about the overpopulation problem in the Portland Metropolitan Area by utilizing grassroots involvement at the neighborhood level.

The kit is composed of a clipboard holding a survey pad, a neighborhood map for orientation, informational brochures and safety instructions for door-to-door surveys. There is also an identification badge and a magnet for volunteers to keep at home. The online portion of the project can be viewed here.
